David Goyer to supervise Ghost Rider 2 at Columbia Pictures
Columbia Pictures is amping up a sequel to Marvel"s GHOST RIDER, according to Variety. David Goyer is in early talks to create the story and supervise writers for a film expected to once again star Nicolas Cage, so reports the trade.
The move is amongst a surge in Marvel projects being dashed into development ahead of Disney"s acquisition of Marvel Entertainment. The trade reports that the movement is necessary for those studios to retain rights to their respective Marvel superheroes. If the properties languish, the rights can be reclaimed by Marvel Entertainment, which is what happened with such properties as Dr. Strange, Black Panther and Iron Man.
